Here, John Graeme, Luxury Car Expert at Redline Specialist Cars reveals the seven summer hazards every supercar owner should watch out for, and how to protect their vehicle throughout the season.
"Summer is one of the best times of year to own a supercar", he says, but it's also when your vehicle is exposed to some of the harshest conditions. Many everyday factors, such as bird droppings, strong sunlight, and tree sap, can gradually damage paintwork, trim, and interiors if left untreated.

1. Bird poo

"Firstly, bird droppings are one of the biggest enemies of premium paintwork. They contain acidic compounds that can begin damaging the clear coat surprisingly quickly, especially when they're baked onto the surface by the summer sun.

"If you notice any on your supercar, it's generally best to remove them as quickly as possible. I recommend using a microfibre cloth and an appropriate cleaner instead of leaving them to harden, which can make them more difficult to remove.

2. Tree sap

"Tree sap is another summer hazard that could put luxury vehicles at risk of unnecessary damage. In warm weather, sap hardens quickly and bonds to the paintwork. Many drivers may scrape this off their vehicles, but I advise against it, as it's easy to leave visible scratch marks.

"Instead, people should use cleaners designed for vehicles and avoid parking under trees for prolonged periods of time throughout the summer months.
