New research has revealed that the Nissan GT-R is the most sought-after discontinued car in the UK. The Research, undertaken by GoShorty, compiled data to see which discontinued cars are the most missed by the UK. To find out which cars the UK misses most, they looked at the average number of UK Google searches each month for every car on our list. The Nissan GT-R came in first place as the most-searched discontinued car in the UK. With international sales ending in 2022 in Europe and North America, the iconic GT-R gets on average 58,667 Google searches a month. In second place, the BMW i3 is one of the most missed discontinued cars in the UK. Production of the i3 ended in the summer of 2022, after nine years of production. There are 44,242 Google searches on average each month in the UK for the BMW i3. The Hyundai Ioniq is the third car in our top three that was discontinued in 2022, following six years of production. In the UK, there are on average 35,683 Google searches a month for the Hyundai Ioniq. Using a combination of average monthly search volume, total number of Instagram posts and total TikTok hashtag views, GoShorty also created a top ten list of the world's most missed motors. The Dodge Viper and The Honda S2000 came in as joint first with a score of 9.45. 2017 was the final year of production for the Dodge Viper, one of the greatest American supercars ever made. Ranking in joint first place as the most popular discontinued car in the world, there are on average 345,667 monthly Google searches for the Viper. We also found 369,652 tagged Instagram posts and 161.9 million TikTok views for the Dodge Viper. The Honda S2000 is one of the most loved sports cars ever created, with production discontinuing in 2009. The cult classic ranks in joint first place as the most popular discontinued car model on our list. On average there are 308,583 monthly Google searches worldwide for the S2000, with 562,063 tagged Instagram posts and 132.6 million TikTok hashtag views. Mazda's RX-7 is one of the most iconic Japanese cars of all time and is one of the best-selling rotary-engine cars in history. The RX-7 gets on average 171,000 Google searches each month from around the world and has 552,107 tagged Instagram posts and 760.9 million TikTok hashtag views. Further Insights • The Ford Escort, which ranks in the top 5 for both the UK and Worldwide, has over 68 million TikTok Hashtag views. It also has over 270,000 tagged Instagram posts. • The Dodge Viper has over 345,000 monthly searches on average as well as 161 million TikTok hashtag views. • The Honda S2000 has over 560,000 tagged Instagram posts and has an average monthly search volume of 308,583.
